A faster, simpler alternative to hotel laundry
Hotel laundry in Madrid is, with a few honourable exceptions, slow and expensive. A shirt sent down on Monday morning often comes back Tuesday afternoon, priced as if each garment had a small spa day. For a one-night stopover that does not matter. For anyone staying three days or more, it becomes a problem.
MadridWash works directly with you or with your concierge. We pick up the bag from reception, wash and fold it at our facility, and return it sealed to the same desk the same business day. Concierges keep their guests happy; guests keep their schedule. Nothing gets routed through the hotel’s in-house laundry queue.
Why guests ask for an alternative
Three reasons come up again and again. Price — a typical hotel laundry list charges per item, so a small bag becomes a triple-digit bill. Turnaround — 24 hours is the polite quote, but in practice it can drift. Granularity — hotel laundry assumes formal wear; guests these days have running kit, kids’ clothes, gym bags, and casual everything, all of which a domestic-style wash handles better.
Our flat per-bag pricing covers the whole bag, sorted and washed at the right temperatures, folded and sealed. There is no per-item line item, no “delicate handling supplement,” no minimum charge.
How the hotel handover works
You book online and put the hotel address as the pickup location. Add the guest name and room number in the booking notes. We arrive in the window, identify ourselves at reception, collect the bag tagged with the booking reference, and confirm pickup by SMS or email. The return follows the same path — reception accepts the sealed bag and delivers it to the room, or holds it at the desk if the guest prefers.
If you are the concierge booking on behalf of a guest, you can pay on the company card and we issue an invoice with VAT for the property. We are familiar with the process at most central hotels along the Gran Vía, Paseo del Prado, the Castellana, Plaza España, and the Salamanca district.
Turnaround that matches a hotel stay
A morning pickup at the hotel is back at reception the same afternoon. A pickup before 1pm is back the same evening. For early-flight situations we can run the bag through the express service and have it back within 2 hours — useful when the guest discovers at 4pm that tomorrow’s shirt is not viable.
Items, limits, the small print
Wash-and-fold only. Anything that is dry-clean only stays for the hotel’s in-house service or a specialist. Bag size is suitcase-sized; if a guest has more, we send two bags. Damaged or stained items get a polite note before we wash, so there are no surprises at handover.
